Racist killer attacked in jail

The racist killer of a black teenager student has been beaten up in prison.

Michael Barton, 17, was jailed for life in December last year with his 20-year-old cousin for killing Anthony Walker, 18, with an ice axe.

Earlier this month he was set upon as he took a shower. The Prison Service said the teenager was cut in the face and beaten up in the attack.

Barton was told he would serve a minimum of 17 years after being found jointly responsible, along with his cousin, for the murder of Anthony.

Mr Justice Leveson described their actions as a “racist attack of a type poisonous to any civilised society”.
