Adviser reveals fortune fit for Queen

Extensive details of Queen Elizabeth's personal fortune have been revealed for the first time by a close financial adviser to the monarch.

The official has disclosed that she owns jewellery and historic cars worth £10 million ($24 million) as well as art and furniture worth £20 million. Her estates, Sandringham and Balmoral, are together valued at £61 million.

Despite the monarch’s generosity to charity and her personal frugality, she spends more than £1 million a year subsidising Balmoral and her string of racehorses.

In The Sunday Times Rich List to be published next week Queen Elizabeth is valued at £250 million but has slipped 44 places to joint 177th, level with Stephen Marks, founder of the fashion chain French Connection.

According to the adviser, Queen Elizabeth has “no interest in money” and leaves investment decisions to her experts.
