Anti-terror laws ‘to be improved’

The British home secretary is to spell out proposals for more far-reaching measures to tackle terrorism.

Proposals include special anti-terror courts without juries and civil orders which could be used against people suspected of planning terrorism.

The new legislation will not be introduced until law lords rule on existing anti-terror laws, nor feature in the Queen’s speech this week.

The government and security services have long warned that an attack on the UK is “inevitable”.

Critics politicians are creating a climate of fear to justify repressive anti-terror laws.
